The Société immobilière de Mayotte aims to build 4,400 homes and invest 1.2 billion euros between 2026 and 2036, according to the ambitions presented on Tuesday 20 October in Coconi with its majority shareholder, CDC Habitat. The group is targeting a pace of close to 500 deliveries a year.
This trajectory builds on an existing programme. SIM had 1,631 homes under construction, representing 460 million euros, and managed 3,386 homes as at 30 September. After 48 deliveries and 228 construction starts in the first nine months of the year, its targets for 2026 reach 264 deliveries and 420 construction starts.
Public funding remains a point of concern. Of the 24 million euros allocated under a single budget line, 6 million had been approved and 18 million remained pending as at 20 October, according to figures reported by Mayotte Hebdo. CDC Habitat warned that a contraction in state credits could slow the rollout of the programme.
The presentation accompanied the inauguration of the Les Palmiers residence in Coconi, a complex of 45 homes built for 10 million euros. It includes 22 very social homes, 18 social homes and five market-rate rental homes.
SIM is also continuing the restoration of 1,672 homes damaged by Cyclone Chido. All the work has been launched and 80% of the homes had been delivered, for a programme valued at 72 million euros, of which 53 million euros was for works.
Agreements signed with Mamoudzou and Ouangani also provide for 500 homes and 5,000 square metres of economic activity by 2030. The one signed with Kani-Kéli covers 150 homes and 1,500 square metres of commercial premises, while the agreement with Dembéni has been postponed due to technical connections still to be resolved.
