Tourism accounted for 7.5% of Morocco's gross domestic product in 2025, compared with 7.2% a year earlier, according to provisional accounts published on Tuesday 20 October by the High Commission for Planning (HCP). The sector therefore gains 0.3 of a percentage point in the wealth produced by the country.

Tourism GDP reached 129.7 billion dirhams, compared with 116.2 billion in 2024, a rise of 11.7% in value terms.

Spending by non-resident visitors is rising faster than that of residents. It amounts to 154 billion dirhams, up 12.5% year on year. This inbound tourism covers foreigners and Moroccans living abroad who visit the kingdom.

These visitors now account for 69.2% of tourism consumption in Morocco, compared with 67.9% in 2024. In total, this consumption reaches 222.4 billion dirhams, up 10.3%.

The component linked to resident tourists stands at 68.4 billion dirhams, up 5.5%. It covers their stays in Morocco outside their usual environment, as well as spending in the country during trips abroad.

The accounts distinguish this spending from tourism GDP. The latter adds together the value added by tourism activities, valued at 106.8 billion dirhams, and net taxes on products less subsidies. Value added rises 10.8% year on year.
