A convoy of 734 tanker trucks carrying fuel arrived in Bamako on Saturday 17 October at around 6 a.m., under escort from the Malian Armed Forces, according to an announcement by the Directorate General of Trade, Consumer Affairs and Competition (DGCC) reproduced by Bamada.
It is the third convoy to reach the capital since the start of October, after those of 3 and 10 October, the DGCC said. The trade services present these arrivals as a boost to stocks at depots and filling stations. They also report deliveries in the regions.
The functioning of supply corridors was the subject of a meeting between the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and fuel industry bodies on 8 October. Discussions focused in particular on the return of empty trucks, the smooth flow of their traffic and the monitoring of distribution, according to the government report.
