Jinko ESS says it has signed an agreement to supply 34 electricity storage systems to a telecoms project in Mali, representing a total announced capacity of 18 megawatt-hours. The manufacturer presented the deal on its regional LinkedIn account in mid-October.
The planned equipment is SunGiga G2 Plus units. The company presents these batteries as a means of reducing mobile networks' reliance on diesel generators and stabilising their power supply, particularly in remote areas or areas not connected to the electricity grid.
The announcement concerns a supply agreement, with no delivery or commissioning confirmed. Jinko ESS does not specify the identity of the customer or the deployment schedule.
