More than 12,000 candidates sat the written exams on Saturday 17 October in Niger, in a competition to recruit 329 staff for the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, according to the Ministry of the Civil Service and the Niger News Agency (ANP).
The ANP counts 12,135 candidates spread across 16 centres in Niamey, Tahoua and Zinder, or nearly 37 candidates per post. The Minister of the Civil Service, Labour and Employment, Aïssatou Abdoulaye Tondi, launched the exams in Niamey.
Direct recruitment is also open, under conditions, to civil servants. In an explanatory note published before the exams, the ministry specifies that this option concerns in particular permanent officials holding diplomas obtained during study leave, through evening classes or by correspondence.
The number of civil servants recruited in this way may not exceed 25% of the posts to be filled, the ministry recalls. Successful candidates benefit from the rules on integration into their new grade and the retention of their index-based salary.
