Pensioners of the National Pension Fund of Benin can complete their proof of life from 15 October to 15 November 2026, under a campaign that allows this formality to be carried out remotely. The scheme covers beneficiaries residing in Benin as well as abroad, according to the ministerial statement of 13 October.

Two routes are available to avoid systematic trips to administrative offices. Retirees can use the "Preuve de Vie" mobile app on a phone or tablet, or go to a biometric kiosk installed in a dedicated public space.

The procedure on a mobile device requires a national personal identification number, the NPI, and a valid pension booklet number. After entering these identifiers in the app, the beneficiary completes the biometric check by presenting their fingerprints to the camera. The ministry recommends avoiding light reflections during this step.

At a kiosk, the procedure relies on the biometric national identity card and a fingerprint sensor. A confirmation must be sent to the pensioner by SMS, email or WhatsApp once verification is complete, the statement says.

To assist users, the ministry in charge of the Budget and the Civil Service has made available the number (+229) 01 21 40 79 47. The statement announces assistance from Monday to Friday, twenty-four hours a day, during the campaign.
