BW Energy lowered its production forecast for 2026 to around 23,000 barrels per day on Thursday 15 October, after well shutdowns in Gabon and Brazil. The group previously targeted the bottom of a range of 24,000 to 27,000 barrels per day.

At Dussafu, offshore Gabon, a well remained shut in for most of the third quarter because of a submersible pump problem, according to the company's operational update. Work on this well accompanies the two-week seasonal maintenance, which was postponed to October and is still under way.

In Brazil, at the Golfinho field, gas injection compressor availability was reduced and a pump on a well failed. Replacement of this pump is expected by the end of the year.

The group's average production came to 21,500 barrels per day in the third quarter, compared with 25,300 in the second. These volumes and the annual forecast represent BW Energy's share, not the total production of the partners.

In a separate announcement the same day, the operator reported two positive appraisal wells at Dussafu. It estimates their combined recoverable potential at around 8 to 9 million barrels for all partners, before allocation of their interests.

These results should allow at least one producing well to be added to the ongoing MaBoMo campaign. BW Energy expects first production in the first quarter of 2027. Its partner Panoro Energy confirms this forecast timetable and adopts the operator's estimate.
