The Togolese Treasury plans a simultaneous issue of bills and bonds on Friday 16 October 2026, for an amount put up for auction of FCFA 25 billion. The UMOA-Titres notice sets the deadline for receiving bids at 10:30 GMT via SAGETIL-UMOA.
An announced issue, with the result to follow
The planned value date is 19 October. When consulted on 11 October, the notice did not yet provide detailed documents on the terms of each tranche. The final maturities and conditions should be read in the documents published for this operation.
The amount put up for auction indicates what the issuer is seeking. It differs from the amounts offered by investors and the sums ultimately accepted. The results report for the operation will establish these other figures.
Terms determine how securities are compared
To read an auction, one must compare the amount, the maturity and the remuneration terms. A sum raised at short term does not produce the same repayment schedule as a longer-dated bond. Comparing results of operations without taking their maturities into account would therefore give an incomplete reading of the financing obtained.
Individual investors' participation in the primary market goes through authorised intermediaries, notably credit institutions and management and brokerage companies, UMOA-Titres notes. Institutional deposit via SAGETIL is separate from this approach through an intermediary.
The Togolese operation fits into the regional public financing calendar, where Mali also announces an auction on 14 October. Results should be examined separately for each issuer and each maturity.
