Ghana accepted 3.482 billion cedis in Treasury bill bids at the 16 October auction, for issuance on Monday, 19 October, according to results from the Bank of Ghana. The accepted amount was 30.6% below the 5.019 billion cedi target.
Investors had offered 5.173 billion cedis, more than the amount sought. The shortfall against the target therefore concerned bids accepted by the Treasury, not total bids submitted.
The Treasury accepted 2.202 billion cedis in 91-day bills, 692.30 million in 182-day bills and 587.61 million in 364-day securities. Weighted-average annual interest rates were 4.6235%, 6.3154% and 9.7135%, respectively.
At the previous auction on 9 October, accepted bids had reached 4.400 billion cedis. The Bank of Ghana set the target for the next auction at 3.798 billion cedis.
