Côte d’Ivoire launched the call for projects of the Fund to Support Youth Organisations, FAOJ, on 5 October 2026. The announced envelope totals FCFA 4.3 billion. The scheme targets associations, federations and youth organisations, as well as the structures that supervise them.

Conditions relating to the applicant organisation

The criteria presented include at least two years of legal existence, up-to-date statutes and activity reports, a bank account in the organisation’s name and no sanction in progress. Three funding categories are provided: from 500,000 to 3 million FCFA, from 3 to 15 million, then from 15 to 50 million.

Projects can be filed on the FAOJ website or with the regional offices of the relevant ministries. The sectors cited include education, community action, the environment and social innovation.

Preparing a project from the expected result

For an organisation, preparing the file begins with defining the need the project addresses. Expenditure must then be linked to the planned activities and to the resources needed to carry them out.

The chosen funding category must match this operational dimension. A larger budget also requires the capacity to manage more activities, monitor their progress and account for how funds are used. The documents on existence and activity help place this capacity within the organisation’s history.

The overall envelope of the fund and the possible amounts per project therefore serve different purposes. Applications must be assessed on their content and against the criteria of the call; the announcement of the fund does not constitute an automatic grant of funding to each structure.
