Young Ivoirians aged 16 to 35 can submit applications for the Service civique d’action pour le développement until Wednesday 14 October 2026. The Office of the National Civic Service (OSCN) is opening a new intake aimed in particular at people who have left school, have no qualifications or are unemployed.

Places spread across four centres

Bimbresso has 200 places. In Bouaké, 150 places are reserved for girls at the Bouaké 1 centre and 500 for boys at the Tuo Fozié centre. Daloa takes in girls and boys across 500 places. The total thus reaches 1,350 places.

Applications are to be submitted to the regional or departmental offices of the ministry in charge of Youth, to the centres concerned, or to the OSCN in Abidjan. This proximity to drop-off points is useful for preparing an application without being limited to the capital.

From return to training towards a trade

The programme provides for six months in residence: two devoted to resocialisation, then four to vocational qualification. The trades offered include construction, mechanics, sewing and cooking. A placement with craftspeople or companies may then last three to six months, with support from the Agence Emploi Jeunes.

For a candidate, this format requires being able to commit to a residential stay and choosing a trade that matches their project. The stage with a professional carries particular weight: it allows the skills acquired to be tested against the orders, hours and demands of a workshop. The number of places measures the reception capacity of this intake; monitoring of job placement will then need to focus on the courses actually completed and the activities actually carried out.
