Algeria’s national one-stop investment window will go live on January 1, 2027, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced on Wednesday, October 14, during a meeting with business leaders in Algiers, according to the official agency APS.

Algeria has set by decree the duties of a national one-stop investment window, responsible for centralising decisions and authorisations for projects registered with it. Signed on October 12, the text was published in the Official Journal on October 13 2026.

The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency, the AAPI, will continue its duties until the new body is effectively set up, the decree provides. Files already under way will be transferred according to a timetable jointly set by the heads of the two bodies, without interruption of services to investors.

The window will support projects from registration through to implementation and operation. Its specialised units will bring together authorised representatives of the relevant administrations to handle procedures for company creation, land, taxation, connection to utility networks, and employment and social security.

For project promoters, the text also sets time limits for issuing the authorisations and documents needed to carry projects out. It sets a maximum of fifteen days from receipt of files, extended to twenty days for prior agreements to establish facilities classified in the first three categories.

Acts duly issued by the units will be binding on the relevant administrations. These may not impose a new formality or administrative assessment for their execution, under article 24.

Based in Algiers and placed under the supervision of the Prime Minister or head of government, the window will be headed by a chairman and chief executive officer appointed by presidential decree, with the rank of minister of state. It will in particular be responsible for granting economic land and the benefits for which projects are eligible.
